Capturing the beauty and grace that is found underwater, Cassie Pali creates fine art pieces that showcase Hawaiian Culture, Goddesses, and Mermaids in this ethereal world. Marrying the beauty of underwater photography with fine art digital painting, Cassie works with clients and models to capture unique images in a liquid environment manipulating the images to create custom art. Beauty and texture envelop Cassie’s fine art. Watercolor paper, canvas, acrylic, metal, archival photographic paper, and Giclee prints are a few of the choices offered. I love photography and have been a professional photographer for two decades. I started with film and switched to digital over time. I began my career as a wedding planner.
It was my way of getting started in photography. I was able to book weddings direct and by doing so I give myself the photography jobs too!
It was great, but after a couple of years, I was so busy working with other coordinators as a photographer that I stopped doing the coordination side and focused on my photography.
I’m a Mom, Daughter, Grandma/Nana, Adventure lover, Surfer, Paddler, Free Diver, Motorcycle rider, Photographer!
I’ve traveled around the world and while traveling kept my camera at my side. Whether I was working for a client or just wondering by myself. I’ve captured many moments and have created books on all of these travels. Never in my life would I have thought I would make a living as a photographer.
It’s 20 years later and I’m still a photographer. Someone pinch me, because this is amazing! It has really happened and I get to do, and have been doing, what I love for a living.
I have diversified my business to cover many areas of photography. Weddings, family photos, boudoir, travel, underwater, adventure, babies, fine art, and even some still life photography has been shot. Diversifying my skills over time has made me good at what I do. I have recently, in the last 5 years started working in the underwater world. OMG... I love it!
It was was an accident that sent me in this direction. I severed my ACL in an accident six years ago. A few surgeries and learning to walk a few times had me going crazy. I was stuck behind the computer but not for long. I stuck my camera in a housing and since I couldn't walk I decided to swim, without one leg. I started with captured marking images for Trilogy. (that's another story)
The cast didn’t get in my way. I was still photographing and that kept me happy. I loved seeing my photographs on Trilogy's vehicles and in ads, especially the one at the airport that everyone got to see.
I kept my business running with the help of great staff. This gave me the opportunity to learn more about free diving and photographing people underwater. I fell in love with the underwater world! Now I have a Mermaid tail sponsor, and I have been traveling to Mermaid retreats yearly to photograph the mythical creature underwater. The last to years have been in Mexico and soon I will be in Fiji. (2020 postponed to 2021) Ask me how you can join us!
I have taken my underwater work to a new level with creating fine art images. For my mermaids, goddesses and anyone that loves the water. I have a series of fine art images of hula dancers that is beginning to sell across the Hawaiian islands. I had a recent sale of a goddess that went to Austria so I guess i'm international now. :)
If water is something you love please reach out for a shoot. There is nothing more loving, healing, beautiful than a goddess shoot. A frolicking mermaid in the sea brings joy too! Anything to do with water will put a smile on your face and mine too!
